ACCELOR’S DIAGNOSTIC ACTION PLANNING TOOL
By partnering with a mentor who knows Small to Medium Enterprises and has been where you are?
ADAPT is a programme to help SME Owner Managers secure sustainable growth for their SMEs which in turn helps secure economic sustainability for Local Communities.
The programme is delivered with the help of Accelor’s Diagnostic Action Planning Tool (ADAPT)
and a Local Accredited Non-Executive Guide and is sometimes promoted by a Local Community Sponsor.
Accelor’s Diagnostic Action Planning Tool
SMEs are the lifeblood of local economies and communities - SME Owner Managers are
unsung heroes juggling day to day operations while significant strategic challenges to pile up and threaten to overwhelm.
These challenges include:
• Rising energy and raw material costs, leading to a squeeze on margins
• Employee pressure for increased wages
• Digital based competitors add to the competition
• Consumers, banks and government agencies push for ever greener operations
The stakes are high for SMEs and their Owner Managers, and the need to adapt is vital for all SME stakeholders:
• Employees
• Suppliers and Customers
• Local Communities and Cooperatives
• National Economies and National Competitiveness
• A D A P T offers a substantial value return to the SME Owner Manager on a relatively small investment.
• A D A P T has been formulated to enable SME Owner Managers to look strategically at their business with the help of an experienced Non-Executive Guide.
• A D A P T is affordable in terms of both time and money, and will not disrupt the SME Owner Manager’s busy schedule for more than an hour a day over twenty days.
• A D A P T helps the SME Owner Manager to review the business and the current and changing industrial landscape, in a systematic manner to map out the challenges and opportunities, and develop a Vision and Action Plan going forward.
• A D A P T Implementation Support, if and when required, can then be provided in a manner that maximises the utilisation and development of the SME’s own internal resources.
• The A D A P T Programme leads to the SME Owner Manager’s own Action Plan – which can then be implemented with or without external help, as and when decided by the SME Owner Manager.
• The first step is to make contact with us below, so that we can explain the A D A P T Programme in greater detail – without any obligation to pursue further.
• A D A P T has been designed to be carried out on-line, via a Zoom or equivalent platform, thus providing maximum time flexibility for you (additional charges would apply for in person consulting, were it to be your preference).
• The Process uses key questions to help the SME Owner Manager through what may be viewed as a “journey of discovery” of the business and its environment.
• The Accelor A D A P T Non-Executive Guide provides an independent sounding board as part of the dialogue leading to a high level of consistency and quality in the resulting vision and action plan.
• We believe the current challenges will be felt most acutely by SME Owner Managers leading SMEs with between 10 and 100 employees.
• SMEs with more than 100 employees typically have the revenues and the resources to enable their Owner Managers and CEOs to take sufficient time away from the day to day operations, to consider the broader and often longer term challenges as they emerge.
• SME Owner Managers with less than 100 employees are often transitioning from “being the business” to “running the business” to then “leading the business” – hence confronting a more complex and confusing mix of demands on their time, preventing them from taking the necessary time to consider the future strategic direction of the business.
• Often Management Consultancies tend to focus their attention on Corporates who have the funds available to pay for their specialised and expensive services. Most often, these services are not designed for, and do not translate well to SMEs.
• The result is the plight of the SME Owner Manager struggling with mounting challenges, which is what the ADAPT programme has been developed to address.
• A D A P T reflects a lifetime of combined consulting and executive experience of the Founders, and has been created specifically with the SME Owner Manager in mind.
• An earlier version of the approach was developed and successfully applied in the context of a major Private Equity Firm in London with a portfolio of more than 100 SME investee companies.
• One of the Accelor Founders worked with the UK Growth Accelerator which helped over 10,000 SMEs to (on average) double their expected revenues within two years.
• Coupled with subsequent experience, the Founders have focused on creating A D A P T as a low cost, affordable tool and process to facilitate a constructive dialogue between an SME Owner Manager and Non-Executive Guide to enable the SME Owner Manager to develop a robust Vision and Action Plan for the business.
• A number of senior executives and management consultants have been trained and accredited in the Process.
• A D A P T has been tried and successfully tested, both in the UK and overseas.
• A D A P T has been designed designed to be affordable and valuable to all SME Owner Managers in terms of both time and money. • The Process will be fully explained before asking for any commitment. • Once the SME Owner Manager is ready to commit to the Programme, the standard fee for completing the Programme is £2,500 plus VAT for SMEs of less than 50 people part or full time, £5,000 plus VAT for more than 50, payable in advance.
